So I concluded that I needed to replace this keyboard or find a software solution for it. If the key gets stuck it would lead to all sorts of funny scenarios, not to mention the quick chats becoming a mess easily. The annoying part started when I played games. So when I experience weird characters while typing I just hit AltGr and it would be fine again.
It gets stuck daily a few times, but lucky for me it gets unstuck when I press the AltGr key.

There were some threads online that it can be caused by a Logitech mouse and as I use my G500 as my daily driver, so I tried without it for a while. The issue occurred on Windows too, same as on other Linux distros. To rule out any software issue I tried the keyboard with different operating systems. But after a while I was experiencing a strange behavior, the AltGr key gets stuck for no reason. It had the usual key chatter, nothing a little cleaning and contact cleaner can't fix. But as life goes it was not without it's flaws. Those keys seem to require an unusual amount of extra force that threw off my usual rhythm when typing.I bought a used Ducky One 2 Mini recently because the new ones cost a fortune in my country and it seemed in a good condition. The larger keys, such as backspace, enter and shift keys felt a little off, though. They also provide the same linear action I like a more tactile feel, but the high-end keycaps offset that slight irritation. The switches offer shorter travel than Cherry MX Reds, and that means faster input speed, which is excellent for gaming.

Be sure to keep your manual around, or you'll be lost when you accidentally put it in demo mode and can't figure out how to turn it off. Everything from setting macros to playing minesweeper on the keyboard (no joke) is set up using a specific key combo. I would have preferred using software to handle the lighting, but the One 2 Mini doesn't offer that. The RGB backlit modes can be controlled and customized by pressing numerous keyboard combinations. While this didn't make me perform noticeably better in Apex Legends or Halo 2 Aniversary Edition, I was at least more comfortable.Īs a gaming keyboard then, the One 2 Mini shines, and not just because of the wildly aggressive RGB lighting the white base underneath makes the color in each key pop. I, for one, welcome that since I typically use big, sweeping movements when playing games, and I almost always bang my mouse to the side of my normal-sized keyboard. The extra space you save with this tiny keyboard means you have more room for your mouse to move.
